Character:
A) Player (nickname, handle):
B) Player's main LegacyTales.net Username: alisa_lebeau_v2
C) Email: DeadlyGambit2@aol.com
D) Character name: Alisa LeBeau
E)Reltionship to Canon Character(s): Adopted daughter to Jean Luc LeBeau, Adopted Sister to Gambit. She does not have much contact with either.
F) Do you see the character as a primary character, who would be used regularly? A secondary character, who would be more background? Or a plot character, who shows up from time to time and drives stories?: I do see my character as being someone who starts out in a secondary/background role, only to eventually become a primary character.
G) New character Dreamwidth journal (if already created): alisa_lebeau_v2
H) Base of operations: Manhattan, New York City
I) Physical description (face, build, weight): Alisa LeBeau stands at 5' 7" in height and weights close to one hundred and thirty eight pounds. Her body is well taken care of, showing she spends time at the gym, but not enough to look overly muscular. Alisa has a somewhat narrow face, waist length auburn colored hair that is usually in a ponytail, red on black eyes that sometimes glow in rather dark lighting, and both of her ears are pierced and she usually wears gold hoop earrings in both ears. Her skin is not too pale, nor is it too tan, as though she gets outside enough. She appears to be around seven-teen years of age, maybe eight-teen. A lady never tells her age, you know?
J) Abilities:
Rage Factor: Alisa LeBeau has the mutant ability to absorb the anger and rage from the people around her. Once this rage and anger is absorbed, she is able to use it to increase her own strength, speed, agility, and even make herself somewhat invulnerable.
Hey, I'm Pretty Smart: Alisa LeBeau has a Genius level IQ, surprisingly not linked to her mutation at all. She has a good grasp of engineering, AI systems, and computer systems.
Johnny Boy: Alisa LeBeau created her own AI out of computer parts that were tossed out in the dumpster by various companies in Manhattan. She took these parts, cleaned them, and re-worked them into her own personal AI named "Johnny". He is not as advanced as Stark Tech, but able to seek out information when asked, hack into various systems, and disguise his IP address from detection. He also makes for a great chess opponent!
K) Weaknesses and flaws:
I need rage to be useful: Alisa's power levels are at human levels until she can absorb some rage/anger to enhance them. She cannot draw upon her own anger, which leaves her to either drawing upon a few angry cabbies in NYC, the protesters of "Occupy Wall Street", or insulting people until she has enough to actually do damage.
It Never Last Long Enough: The more angry/rageful there are, the more powerful she is. BUT if those people calm down or are knocked out, Alisa's power levels will take a severe hit. If she is up against an angry mob, she will have just enough power to survive, but the more people she knocks out or flee the area, the weaker she will become.
I'm not THAT smart: Alisa's gift of intelligence backfired on her when she was younger, and now she is afraid to be seen as the genius that she is. She purposely dumbs herself down, fearing the people around her would think her intellect was caused by her mutant abilities, and not by her.
I don't need anyone: Being smart can be tough. Being a closeted genius even more so. Alisa often keeps to herself or spends time with "Johnny" in her apartment playing chess, upgrading his systems, or just reading a book. She's yet to fully come out of her shell.
Too Much of a Bad Thing: Alisa's powers can over-load if she takes on too much rage at one, and is unable to drain herself of it quickly. If she were to encounter an enraged Hulk, she would be over-powered and more than likely burn out before even getting a shot in at anyone. When she overloads, it usually leads to a bad nose bleed and Alisa being left unconscious for a day or two until her body can recover from the shock.
Obsolete Tech: Alisa's AI system "Johnny" runs on a system that is close to six years old, making him somewhat obsolete to anything anyone else can make. His processing is a quite a bit slower than JARVIS. While he still gets the job done, he could be better.
L) Base of operations: Apartment 4A above the "Manhattan's Finest Gourmet Deli" in Manhattan.
M) Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero on her own time for now.
N)Relatives (living or dead): Jean Luc LeBeau (adpotive father by name), Marcia LeBlanc (Guardian for most of Alisa LeBeau's life), Henri LeBeau (adoptive brother), Remy LeBeau (adoptive brother)
Backstory: Rumors within the Thieves Guild of New Orleans say she was adopted from Russia, others say she came from Baton Rouge, and a few people say she is demon spawn. All that is known for sure is that Alisa LeBeau was adopted into the LeBeau family at the age of three months old. She was handed off to a Guild widow, Marcia LeBlanc, who lived in Baton Rouge and far from the Guild's control and influence. Jean Luc LeBeau and soem of clan LeBeau (including REmy and Henri LeBeau) only visited Alisa a few times in her life, not enough to make a total impact on her life, but to make her question why he even adopted her at all. She never knew, and knew better to ask.
As a child, Alisa was gifted with a high level of intelligence. She was able to walk and talk faster than any child in their small section of Baton Rouge, and was able to learn quite quickly. But because of her red on black eyes, people were quick to judge her budding intelligence as nothing more than a mutant power. Enough to make claims that she "cheated" her way through everything. Marcia LeBlanc often found frustration with this and did her best to try and keep Alisa in some of the better schools within the city, wanting her gifts to grow. She believed in the young girl she raised as her own, and would be damned if she did not get the education she deserved!
In Alisa's teenage years, she was able to take some college level courses by the age of thirteen years. Her intelligence and obvious "mutant" appearance left her isolated, and just focusing on work. Her powers were discovered at about the same time she was taking College level courses in school. Students were furious over her awards, and rumors of cheating were rampant amongst the school. One child tried to punch Alisa to make her pay for her "cheating ways". Instead, Alisa had absorbed enough anger and rage to make her invulnerable to the blow, and unfortunately cause that student to break two bones in their wrist and one in their forearm from the force of their punch against her. Thankfully she was not blamed for the student's injuries, and doctors claimed the student had "brittle bones" from too much soda being consumed. Though that was not the last of her problems.
At age fifth-teen, Alisa graduated from High School, much to the anger of the parents in her home town. Not only did she have a perfect GPA, but managed to become Valedictorian of her class, despite the rumors of her cheating. The School system sided with Alisa, as they had no proof that she was using her powers to cheat, and even tested her several times to see if she was (by giving her pop quizzes and variations of tests that other students were taking. Things she would have learned briefly in class, but could not predict would be in a test). While the school system was satisfied with her incredible performance, Alisa was gifted a Scholarship to LSU, to the dismay of the community. But that prize she worked so hard to earn, would never come to be. Parents and students took their concerns and anger to the board of directors at the University about Alisa's mutant abilities, intelligence, and the fears she was cheating her way through life. Under pressure from the community, Alisa LeBeau was stripped of the Scholarship she worked so hard to earn, any credits for college earned while in High School, and her title of Valedictorian. The scholarship instead went to a Football player with a less than average GPA, and Valedictorian went to a student who's GPA was ten points lower than her own. Alisa LeBeau was just crushed.
While Marcia LeBlanc had fought hard on her side, it was never enough to actually do any good. Alisa was convinced her intelligence was more of a curse than her mutant powers, and had caused the kind widow to be shunned for her own community. She ran away from Baton Rouge, taking a Greyhound to New York City to start fresh, and just give Marcia LeBlanc her life back. It was the least she could do for the woman who sacrificed everything to give her what she could, or so Alisa thought.
While in New York City, Alisa lived on the streets for a brief time. Her powers protected her from thieves, rapists, and bullies, but it still left her feeling alone. She happened to wander into Manhattan one night, and caught the glance of "Manhattan's Finest Gourmet Deli" getting stuck up. Perhaps the feeling of knowing how it hurt to have something you worked so hard for being taken away from you kicked in, as she practically broke into the Deli and saved the owners from getting robbed or killed. The owner of the deli was actually grateful for what Alisa had done, despite the damage she caused to the door. Enough that he offered the homeless teen a job, and one of the vacant apartments above the deli as a home. Alisa agreed, and started working at the Deli as a delivery girl.
"Manhattan's Finest Gourmet Deli" actually had some big company clientele. "Shaw Industries", "Hammer Industries", and "Stark Industries" being some of the names who ordered sandwiches for their employees. Alisa managed to get across town to deliver the meals to each of these companies by using her powers to increase her speed just a bit. But it also gave her a chance to look at the world that could have been hers. Instead, she often played like a dumb delivery clerk, collected a meager tip, and left. Though on occasion if she found components for obsolete tech that had been wiped clean and thrown out, she would swipe it from a dumpster or company garbage and take it home with her. With these parts and her vast intelligence, she created a friend, an AI named "Johnny".
For now, she continues to work as a delivery girl for the Deli, but when she gets home, she often boots up "Johnny" to see if there is any trouble in the local area. If there is, and the Avengers or police are not around, she will go play "hero" for a bit, then come back and start the day all over again.
Sample RP:
"Hey, Alisa!" Jake laughed some as he watched his favorite delivery girl walk into the door. "We got some orders for Stark Industries, you think you can deliver those in a single trip?"
"Sure, Boss. Don' see why non." She gave a small smile, walking over to the large, white box that was filled with enough meals for a whole room filled with execs. "Is dis all o' it?"
"That's all of it, sweetheart." Another laugh escaped the burly man's lips as he leaned over the deli counter, watching to make sure Alisa had a good grip on the box. "You know, kid. I could bump you up to manager if you like. I mean, you look like you pretty much got it all together. You haven't brought back a tab from these companies that wasn't right down to a penny!"
"Oh, dat not me! Dat one o' dem smarter business type guys, you know?" But it was her. As much as she wanted to take the credit, she was too scared to. What if her boss was like everyone back at home? Or those Execs she brought meals to? It was just... better to be more simple. "I'm jus' lucky I can get my rent numbers right! Besides, you wouldn' want me as a Manager. I'd jus' mess up de books an' all. Plus who else would deliver dis stuff as fast as I do?"
"True, you are the fastest Delivery person I know, and that would be a bit of a loss." He rubbed his chin, walking out from behind the counter to open the glass door up for Alisa to exit. "Here you go. Now come back safe, you hear me? I don't care if that food drops, I won't want you hit by some cab!" She risked her life to save that of his and his wife, seemed to play dumb often, but he could not fathom what could happen if the little hero he found ended up as road kill. He could take the loss in profits, but not in life. "Call once you deliver the food, so I know you are okay, kid."
"Oui, Boss! Don' worry none about me, I'll be fine!" Alisa flashed another smile as she walked out the door, hands carrying the hefty order as though it weighed nothing. And now her legs were carrying her at a speed of an Olympic runner. Thank you angry cab drivers! There was no way that she was going to drop this order, get hit by a cab, or be late to Stark Industries with their order!
